The Historical Center of Mexico City (UNESCO World Heritage site) has a story waiting to be told in each street. Mexico City was built on top of the ancient city of Tenochtitlan, the largest pre-Columbian city at the moment of the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors.

You will visit the ruins of the Templo Mayor (Huey Teocalli or Great Temple) that the Aztecs built as the main religious center and was considered the center of the Universe.

Learn about the Mighty Aztec Empire, the foundation of Tenochtitlan and the clash of two worlds that gave birth to what Mexico is today.

It is also famous for the giant stairway mural that Diego Rivera painted from 1929 to 1935 which summarizes the Mexican History and that was created as a part of a huge government´s program to create a new national identity through murals in public buildings.

From there you´ll head to the Metropolitan Cathedral, the oldest and the largest in Latin America. It took 240 years to be finished. You will see three main different architectonical styles such as Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical.

We will explore the historical neighborhood where you´ll see and learn about the Zocalo square, colonial architecture, the National Art Museum, the Post Office building and Palacio de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Palace).

The Fine Arts Palace is one of a kind in Mexico. Designed by Italian architect Adamo Boari in 1904 and finished until 1934. A must see in Mexico City.

Afterward, your guide will drive you to the Castle of Chapultepec where you will enjoy a great view of Mexico City. You will learn about the forest of Chapultepec and the huge impact that the Castle has had in Mexico. Explore what was once the home of  Emperor Maximilian and his wife Charlotte from Belgium.
